Dave Stauffer offers a unique combination of experience in business communication and land use planning.
In business communication. As head of Stauffer Bury Inc. since 1983, Dave’s long-term real estate-related clients include The Rouse Company, Freddie Mac, Marriott International, and Prime Retail. As a contractor to these and other companies, he has written several hundred annual reports, investment prospectuses, industry profiles, management information newsletters, and other material. Dave is the author of four books on corporate success published by John Wiley & Sons, and he’s written dozens of articles published by Harvard Business School Publishing, The Conference Board, The Wall Street Journal, and others. Before launching his own company, Dave served as director of special publications for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Washington, DC.
In land use planning. Dave has served as city planner and development code administrator for the mountain resort town of Red Lodge, Montana. He headed the city’s planning and zoning commission, and today is a member of the Red Lodge City Council and its land use committee. Dave is the author of articles on progressive land use techniques for publications including UrbanLand, Western Planner, and Planning Commissioners Journal. He has been an invited speaker at land use conferences and workshops, and he has served as a volunteer leader for two organizations concerned with issues of land use and growth: the Beartooth Front Community Forum and the Yellowstone Business Partnership. For YBP, he currently serves as vice-chair of the board and program chair.
